The Almost Uptown Poetry Cartel presents the Poet’s Cruise. Rolling down the river of verse. Come set sail on the Pride of the Susquehanna, and enjoy an evening of poetry, on the second ever Poet’s Cruise. Adult beverages will be available, this a 21+ event. Come mingle with the art community and be inspired!
Harrisburg’s current Poet Laureate, Rick Kearns, will be providing introductions to Harrisburg’s Original Poet Laureate, Gene Hosey, and sensational Baltimore poet Christine O’Leary-Rockey.
Harrisburg School Board Director, Carrie Fowler, will be aboard The Pride collecting journals, notebooks, dictionaries, and thesauri for young, aspiring writers and poets of Harrisburg city schools, so attendees are encouraged to donate to this wonderful cause. This will be a 21+ cruise.
Ticket price is $14.00 in advance, $15.00 at the door.

Cafe Huey is located right above our docks and has an extensive menu of grilled items and other delectable treats. If you would like to order and bring aboard one of their meals, we recommend that you place an order ahead of time so that it is ready before the riverboat leaves the dock. The riverboat galley will have a limited number of packaged items for purchased during the cruise, such as pretzels and chips.
The riverboat leaves promptly on time.
The Pride is wheelchair and handicapped accessible.
This cruise is for ages 21 and older.
The riverboat sails rain or shine. In the case of unsafe sailing conditions, the captain will have the event held aboard the riverboat while docked.
Restrooms are available onboard.
