This weekend, the Pride of the Susquehanna kicked off its 25th Anniversary Season to the public with a beautiful cruise on Mother’s Day.

We arrived early to enjoy the beautiful views from the dock and snap some family photos. (From left: my mother, me, my younger brother, my future sister-in-law and my elder brother) At 5:45 on the dot, we were greeted by the illustrious Captain Richard and found our seats in the lovely salon.

The evening began with safety procedures and a Mother’s Day blessing from our Captain. A singer/guitarist serenaded guests on the top deck while others were being served Chicken Piccata or Ham in the salon. The raspberry shortcake dessert was a huge hit at my table. Kudos to Premier caterers for their delicious meal.

Despite strong current, winds and cooler temperatures, the Pride made her way up and down the river for our enjoyment. My older brother’s fiancee was so impressed with the Pride, she’s thinking of chartering it for her bridal shower! Find out more about how you can charter the Pride for your next big event here.

If you missed out on Mother’s Day – don’t fret! There are plenty of other cruise options that are sure to impress everyone on your gift list. How about a Father’s Day Cruise? I will be surprising my dad – a total civil war junkie – with tickets to the Civil War Lecture Dinner Cruise for Father’s Day. For a more family-oriented, rolicking good time try one of our popular Pirates on the Pride cruises. It’s an experience your kids will remember forever. Check out this video to see what Pirates on the Pride is all about!

I hope all of you enjoyed your Mother’s Day celebration!
